Small, Silent PC for Office Use.Average Power Consumption of 20W. |
Revolutionary New Dual Core ProcessorIntel’s new D510 Atom Pine Trail processor (released in January, 2010) features two 1.66GHz cores. The chip features an integrated GPU and memory controller – a breakthrough that greatly lowers power consumption but is powerful enough to play back 720p HD video. The processor only uses 13W, a fraction of Pentium notebook processors. Small and FanlessThe D1 is 67% smaller than a Small Form Factor (SFF) PC from Fujitsu Siemens, HP, or Dell and a fraction of the weight (1.4 kg versus 8kg on average). It’s passively cooled so there are no noisy fans. With the SSD option there are no moving parts and complete (0dB) silence. The hard drives are selected for quietness and are not audible in an office environment. Perfect for Office UseWith 2 x 1.66 GHz Intel Atom CPU, 2-4GB RAM, and Gigabit LAN, the D1 offers more than adequate performance for general office and light multimedia tasks in a smaller package and with much less power consumption that competing corporate PCs. Available with a 320GB hard drive for those requiring extra storage or a much faster Intel SSSD. Low Power = Low TCOSmall Form Factor PCs come with large (and noisy) 300 Watt Power Supplies though their average power consumption is 100W. By using a more efficient PSU, notebook DVD drive and hard drive, and Intel’s Pine Trail processor, we’ve brought that way, way down. The D1 maxes out at just 28W, driving down your Total Cost of Operation.
Ubuntu or Windows 7Ubuntu is our favourite operating system but we also offer Windows 7. Since 32-Bit Operating Systems can only use 3GB of RAM, we offer the D1 with 64-Bit versions of Linux and Windows. It can run XP as well and is available without an OS for organizations with an MS licensing agreement in place. |
The D1 is really small – just 20 cm (7.9″) across, 7.4 cm (2.9″) tall, and 30.5 cm (12″) deep. No fan so it’s silent as well. Here’s what it looks like sitting underneath a 19″ Lenovo monitor. |

The D1 offers a pair of USB 2.0 ports in front as well as Audio In/Out and of course the DVD-RW drive. Internal power supplies are usually equipped with noisy fans so we supply the D1 with a small external AC adapter that’s also fanless.
Rear I/O of the D1: PS/2 ports, VGA, 4 x USB 2.0 Ports, Gigabit Lan port, and Audio. Above the backplate is the 19V DC input. |
