Features

World’s Smallest Quad Core PC

The H2 is the first Quad Core PC you can fit in your hands. At only 2.5 liters in volume, it offers server class performance (up to 8GB RAM!) in a thin client form factor. Larger than the Mac Mini, but with equal graphics capability, better I/O, and far greater processing power. All at a (much) lower price. And now available with a powerful Dual Core Processor (2 x 2.8GHz) for £100 less.

Dual Head Display

The onboard Nvidia chipset supports two displays, whether 2 x VGA or 2 x DVI (using an HDMI to DVI converter), a feature not available on the Mac Mini.

Absurd Quad Core Performance

The H2 boasts an Intel Q8200S with 4 x 2.33GHz Cores, and 4MB L2 Cache. Scores 7.1 on Windows Experience Index! All backed up by 800MHz DDR2 RAM (either 2 x 2GB or 2 x 4GB).

eSATA, Gigabit LAN, HDMI/DVI/VGA, & Optical Audio

A small box with outstanding I/O including 8 USB 2.0 ports (6 in back, a pair in front), a full gamut of display ports, and both optical and coaxial audio, as well as an eSATA port and Gb lan.

Integrated 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN

Because many Wi-Fi adapters don’t work easily with Linux we’ve included an 802.11n Edimax USB adapter that is mounted behind the front plate. It works out-of-the-box with Ubuntu and has a range of Windows drivers.

Available with Ubuntu
or Windows 7 64-Bit

The H2 comes with Ubuntu 9.10 by default (released October, 2009), which includes OpenOffice 3.1 and the Firefox web browser. Though we recommend Linux, Windows drivers are available for the H2 and Windows 7 works beautifully on it. Either way we use 64-Bit so you’ll have access to all 4GB RAM (32-Bit can only utilize 3GB RAM).

"" aleutia-h2-back

Aleutia H2 on top of D1

The H2 pictured above our best selling D1. Significantly smaller (and more powerful).

The H2 Opened Up: Zotac 9300 Motherboard, Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200S CPU, 2 x 2GB RAM (Kingston), Pico PSU (150W), and Intel X25-M (Generation 1 in this picture) Solid State Drive. Apple not included :) .

aleutia-h2-single-drive

The chassis of the H2 (and H1) allows for 2 x 2.5″ Drives to be placed. The motherboard supports RAID so cold-swap RAID is even possible. Or you could run the OS on an SSD and keep storage on a 500GB drive.

This is the Windows Experience Index, found in Windows 7 and Vista. Thanks to the outstanding processor and Intel SSD, the H2 hits 7.1 and 7.5. It’s exceedingly difficult to top 4.4 without an external graphics card, which wouldn’t fit in such a small chassis.

Low Power PCs

August 24, 2009
http://www.lowpowerpcs.co.uk/aleutia-h2-quad-core-low-power-pc/#more-125

Although the average power consumption is around 40W, the peak usage can go up to 80W. However, that’s far less than a conventional quad core PC that could be using a power supply rated between 400W to 1000W. The power supply is a 12V 90W external power adaptor, which helps to keep the temperature down inside the PC.

The Aleutia H2 graphics support handles 1080i and 1080p, Microsoft DirectX 10, H.264, VC1 and Mpeg-2 video decoding, and Blu-ray playback. Basically it can handle pretty much any graphics requirements, including hardware intensive computer games.
