Based on Intel’s NUC (10 x 10 cm) motherboard, the Aleutia R50 provides high-end performance with an Intel i3 Processor, HD 4400 Haswell Graphics and up to 16GB of high-speed RAM in an incredibly small, fanless sealed chassis machined from a single block of aluminium.

Works Anywhere

The R50 can run at 100% load up to 50 C ambient and is sealed from dust ingress and salty air. It’s been used in the engine rooms of tanker ships, in train tunnels in Western Australia and in rural Kenyan classrooms. It’s been put in sealed outdoor cabinets under the baking sun of Saudia Arabia. It works anywhere but underwater.

With a completely fanless design and a solid state drive, the R50 is designed for mission-critical applications where failure is not an option.

Still Low Power Consumption

Despite its powerful performance, every component of the R50 has been selected for energy efficiency with Low Voltage laptop memory, specialised Intel processors, mSATA SSDs and an onboard DC power supply.

Idle power consumption is just 7.0 Watts (AC, even less DC) and peak power consumption (with CPU and GPU at max) is 28 Watts.

The R50 was designed from CAD by Aleutia in London and is completely unique. As with all of our products, it’s assembled in the UK to ensure quality, speed, and exemplary working conditions. Even the chassis has been CNC machined in Manchester from UK sourced aluminium. All of this ensures not only quality but gives us the in-house flexibility to make customisations and help our customers achieve their goals. The Case is a Heatsink

Forged from a Single Piece of Aluminium

The R50 features a sealed unibody enclosure carved from a single block of aluminium. It’s created using a computer numerical control, or CNC, machine - the same precision process used to make aircraft components, ensuring consistency with every R50. The grooved design maximises surface area and the entire case serves as a heatsink, keeping the high performance components cool without a fan, even in high temperatures.

Outstanding Performance

Core i3, up to 16GB SSD, SATA-III

The R50 is based on Intel’s 4th Generation Haswell chipset with powerful i3 Processor, and Intel’s HD 4400 graphics. 4GB of Low Voltage (1.35V) DDR3 1600MHz RAM are standard but it’s available with up to 16GB RAM.

As with all Aleutia products, it uses a Solid State Drive (30-1000GB) instead of a moving hard drive to provide greater reliability and performance. But unlike our T1 and All in One, the R50 is based on higher speed SATA-III drives with an incredible 550 MB/s read and 471 MB/s write speed.

Cable Free Design

mSATA Storage Screwed to the Board

The R50 uses an mSATA SSD that is secured by two screws to the mainboard so there are no SATA cables that can ever come loose. Same principal applies to the mini PCIe WLAN module and the power supply is integrated on the board as well for a completely cable free design.

Connect external antennas for outstanding RF

Provides transfer speeds of 450 Mbps. Our customers depend on strong RF so rather than limit our system to an internal antenna, we provide a pair of ReSMA connectors to allow large antennas to be connected and include a pair of 5dB antennas with each system.

The R50 can run on DC power directly, with any voltage from 11-19V. Because the 12V batteries used in solar actually vary from 14V (fully charged) to 11V (decharged), most 12V computers actually need a 12V regulator (to fix voltage at exactly 12V).

We designed the R50 so it could run directly from a 12V battery without needing a regulator, making solar power simpler. Of course, many of our users run on AC grid power (as we do at our London office) but instead of requiring a bulky laptop-style brick adapter that dangles off the desk, the R50 comes with a mobile-phone style wall-mount adapter
