One of the best things about our computers' low power consumption is that our PCs can run off small, inexpensive solar panels. The real cost of computing in remote areas is often the cost of diesel, and the maintenance that diesel generators require. Solar panels are expensive and traditional computers (whether new or second-hand) consume too much energy to make solar cost-effective.

Our new solar panel is less expensive than anything on the market, folds up for portability, and produces 12W of power with excellent efficiency.

It can connect directly to a DC battery using alligator clips or the car adapter to store a charge or it can be connected directly to most laptops or mobile phones using the selection of included adapters.

(Both the Williwaw and E2 will need to connect to a battery. The Williwaw is 12V DC and can run off a lead-acid 12V battery. The E2 is 5V DC so will require either an inverter or step-down converter from 12V to 5V.)
