12V DC, Silent, Fanless PC with Intel Atom CPU.

£169/$263 ex VAT. £198 including VAT.

Features

Just 16 Watts at Peak

Because the T1 is an energy efficient PC it idles at 11 Watts and peaks at just 16 Watts (18W with hard drive).

Optional 32GB or 40GB SSD for No Moving Parts

The T1 is available not only with low-power laptop hard drives, but with extremely fast 32GB Corsair or 40GB Intel Solid State Drives that use only 0.15 Watts (compared to 2W for a hard drive). No Moving Parts Means Less Things to Fail. Because SSDs have such an incredible read speeds, programs open faster and it takes Ubuntu only 12 seconds to boot!

Fanless and Silent

You won’t have to worry about the fan failing either, since the T1 is passively cooled. No fan means no sound either (you only know it’s on from the LED light). Even the laptop hard drives we offer are hand picked to produce only a slight whir.

12V DC Input – Use it Anywhere

Ideal for use in cars, boats, or caravans. A 12V DC Input also makes it ideal for on-grid home use or solar installations as it can run off a Direct Current battery. No need for a wasteful inverter. Ask about our Solar or Classroom-in-a-Box solutions.

Ubuntu Linux – a Great OS

The T1 runs Windows 7 and XP beautifully. But such a great PC deserves a great Operating System. That’s why we exclusively ship the T1 with Ubuntu Linux, the world’s best Linux distribution. It’s fast, reliable, and easy to use. And it comes loaded with great software like Firefox and OpenOffice.

VESA Mountable

The T1 can be mounted to a monitor or wall using 4 mounting screws, allowing you to directly attach it to any standard VESA Mount (100mm x 100mm), whether on a monitor, flat screen television or wall mounting bracket. If required please select from options or include to order notes.

The T1 is easily mounted on the back of a monitor using the 4 included VESA Screws.

Energy Efficient Means a Tiny Power Adapter:

Because the T1 uses so little power it doesn’t need a Laptop “brick” but instead uses a small “mobile phone style” AC adapter (2A, 12V).

Smooth Playback of YouTube, BBC iPlayer, or Hulu:

Most fanless PCs this size come with terrible onboard graphics and minimal processing power, causing them to struggle with online video sites. The T1 is quick enough that it can smoothly play YouTube videos in High Quality mode or BBC iPlayer. If you require HD playback and HD Streaming take a look at our H1).

Wake-on-Lan (WOL), PXE Network Boot, and Auto Booting After Power Loss

All Aleutia PCs support network booting and BIOS support to power on after power loss (or return to last power state). This makes our PCs, especially the T1, great as “always-on” servers.

Reviews

James Fisher, UK | October 30, 2009

“Just to say that (honestly against my expectations) the T1 is running 100% satisfactorily, with no issues of speed or stability whatsoever. In fact it’s been running a month or more now, in a single session with no power-off. I just noticed (and applaud) the 750gb drive and recommendation as a server.
You can expect more orders from me in the future.”

FAQ

Is the T1 available with faster Solid State Drives?

No. The Kingston SSD offers reasonable performance at a good price point. There are much faster SSDs out there (we like Intel’s X25-M 80GB model) but they are wasted on the T1 since the bottleneck for performance is the Atom processor. You’d shave two seconds off the boot time but those high-end drives are best put to use in our H3 PC.

What about smaller SSDs like the Pretec 8GB SSD you used to sell?

We would love to offer the T1 with a less expensive 8GB SSD but the drives we have tested are unusable. The Pretec 8GB SSD we sold was based on a Compact Flash card (inside a metal chassis with SATA connector) and the slow speed means the T1 has trouble just opening a program or even closing a window. For large OEM customers, we regularly source SLC flash modules, either embedded USB Solid State Drives or Disk on Modules (connecting to the T1′s 44 pin IDE port). But a 1GB or 2GB drive won’t fit Ubuntu so we don’t offer it on the website. Contact us for more information.
