Features

World’s Lowest Power Display: Just 4.5 Watts

Your average 17″ TFT uses 20-25 Watts. New 23 and 24″ monitors come in at close to 50 Watts. Small 12V DC monitors (8″) average about 10W. The U70 uses a mere 4.5 Watts with a usable resolution of 800 x 480. Ideal for GPS applications, movie viewing, or basic browsing.

An Alternative to Expensive 12V Monitors

Monitors keep coming down in price but they are always AC, with an internal PSU. If you want a 12V DC monitor to go with your 12V PC, you’ve been stuck with hideously expensive “in-car” monitors from no-name brands. The U70 receives power from USB so you can connect it to your DC voltage PC and not use an inverter.

DisplayLink: Power and Video over USB

The U70 uses DisplayLink technology which sends video data over USB. So if you only have one video port (as with our T1, D1, and F5) you can still use this as a secondary display. But it can also be used as a primary and sole display.

Drivers for Linux, Mac, and Windows (even 7)

Linux drivers are a bit of work but there are available from the community site:
http://libdlo.freedesktop.org/wiki/Ubuntu9.04
Work better with Ubuntu 8.10 than 9.04.
Windows and OS X users can download from DisplayLink’s site.
Windows 7 Users can read our installation instructions on the Aleutia Blog.
